John Dean

John DeanA graduate Mechanical Engineer, John has a wealth of experience in consultancy and management. His early career was spent implementing MRPII systems while carrying out managerial roles within materials management for companies in the Hawker Siddeley and Reckitt and Colman groups. A move into manufacturing systems design saw John work for JCB, which was followed by a spell in management consultancy with the Organisation Development Group. He returned to industry, heading up the group Manufacturing Systems team for Norcros plc. Subsequently John focused on Information Technology and Systems and took an interim management role as IS Director for one of the UK's largest joinery products manufacturers. In this role he oversaw a major systems’ integration programme involving the consolidation of the company’s many legacy computer systems and ICT infrastructure.

In his consultancy career, John has helped many organisations to improve their business performance through process optimisation, systems’ integration and implementation. Like other members of the MLG team John applies a pragmatic approach to all improvement assignments using the Lean toolset to eliminate waste from existing processes before automating them.

John has managed major IT outsourcing assignments, complex systems integration programmes as well as conducted Lean and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) projects. His clients include Siemens, Princes Foods, Microsoft, Fujitsu, Solaglass, Rugby Group, Sonoco, Kerrygold, Mills Manufacturing Technology, Gaskell Textiles and Paragon Office Furniture.

John is married with two grown up sons who share John's keen interest in classic motorcycles and real ale!.
