Robin Goodfellow

Robin GoodfellowRobin started his career with Rolls-Royce in Bristol, working on commercial systems. He joined Burroughs, the computer company, which later merged with Sperry to become Unisys. He worked in both pre- and post-sales roles, and progressed into systems management and has been involved with MRP ever since the early 70's. He progressed into the sales side of the business and then into marketing. He was variously responsible for marketing and supporting MRPII, both in the UK and internationally.

He has worked in consulting since 1989, and has concentrated on providing education and training to manufacturing companies, helping them on their path towards manufacturing business excellence. He has also provided consultancy support to projects implementing manufacturing systems. He runs both public and in-house courses for the Institute of Operations Management. His clients include Nokia, Britax Rumbold, Remploy, Bass, Magnet, McKechnie, Nestlé, Otis, Unilever, Philips, Weatherford, GlaxoSmithKline, to name but a few. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Operations Management, is a Certified Fellow in Production & Inventory Management, and was Chair of the IOM Qualifications and Awards Committee.

He is married, with two sons who have flown the nest. His hobbies are sport oriented, including football, which he continues to referee, tennis and golf. He completed the London marathon in 2004.
